Looking for the perfect holiday destination? Seaside Resort Fingal Bay has what you need

Seaside Holiday Resort is located at Fingal Bay, which is situated two-and-a-half hours to the north of Sydney.
The proximity of the greater Port Stephens area to Sydney makes it a popular weekend getaway. Fingal Bay can also be accessed via Newcastle Airport, located one hour away. Newcastle Airport is serviced by five different airlines and offers flights to and from destinations such as Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Gold Coast and Byron Bay (Ballina Airport).

Fingal Bay is the eastern-most suburb in the Port Stephens community. Fingal Headland marks the north-eastern head of the bay (the bay itself is less than two kilometres at its widest point) and is connected to the mainland via a sand spit. Many Aussies would recognise Fingal Spit as the very beautiful and scenic spot at the end of Tourism Australia’s 2006 television advertising campaign where the bikini-clad Lara Bingle asks ‘Where the Bloody Hell Are You?’ Unlike Lara, you’ll know you’re in Fingal Bay when you smell that beautiful salty sea breeze.

Seaside Holiday Resort Fingal Bay offers 60 self-contained two-bedroom units - including six easy access wheelchair accessible units - that can sleep up to six guests. Resort staff aim to ensure that every guest’s stay is as enjoyable as possible and are committed to providing suitable access for all our guests, whatever their individual needs. Resort facilities include an accessible pool and BBQ area, as well as a playground and trampolines for children. Seaside Resort is located directly across the road from Fingal Bay Beach, which is patrolled 7 days a week during the warmer months. www.seasideholidayresort.com.au

COASTAL ADVENTURE (7)Why Fingal Bay is so great?

Fingal Bay Beach is a hugely popular spot for dolphins & wildlife, the crystal-clear water and often mild surf is the perfect place for young children to get used to the beach. The place is a known spot for an eager koala-spotter, with regular sightings of the dozy bears in their natural habitat within the area. Though they’re cute, be sure to appreciate them from afar and never approach a wild animal!

Much of Fingal Bay is part of the Tomaree National Park. The park provides a striking backdrop to the bays and beaches of the area. The park also has the option of the guided one kilometre, Tomaree Head Summit Walk. The summit walk provides unparalleled views of Port Stephens and the coastline and in season (May to October) it’s a wonderful way to view whales too.

In addition to walks in the national park, another great way to explore the Fingal Bay area is to arrange a boat trip to the Port Stephens Lighthouse. The lighthouse is located on Fingal Island, about two kilometres from the mainland. The unique construction of the 1862 built lighthouse makes it one of the most notable lighthouses in Australia, and a sure hit among architectural buffs and history lovers alike.

For the more adventurous, the nearby Stockton Bight Sand Dunes makes a terrific day out. Stretching a total of 32 kilometres, they’re the largest sand dunes of their kind in the southern hemisphere. You can explore the dunes by foot, camel, horse, quad bike, 4WD or guided 4WD tour. Thrill-seekers will enjoy sandboarding the dunes which can reach up to 40 metres in height. For further information on site seeing adventures & activities or to book your next adventure contact the Bay Booking Office located at the Port Stephens marina.

Whether it’s kayaking, fishing, surfing, mountain biking, bush-walking or bird-watching, or even just enjoying lunch on the beach, Fingal Bay and the Port Stephens area have a multitude of activities on offer. We are positive you will enjoy your holiday with us at our Seaside Holiday Resort Fingal Bay.
