The team at Riverside Holiday Resort in the Northern NSW coastal town of Urunga in the Bellingen Shire, is elated after being announced as a finalist in the category for Excellence in Accessible Tourism at the NSW Tourism Awards 2022.
Riverside is no stranger to the awards, having won Gold in the category of 'Excellence in Accessible Tourism' twice previously in 2019 and 2021, and are three times winner in the category for 'Self-Contained Accommodation' in 2018, 2019, and 2021 earning them a spot in the Awards' 'Hall of Fame'.
This year, the awards are to return after last year's virtual event, and hiatus in 2020 due to Covid restrictions, to Sydney's Luna Park in an event to celebrate and acknowledge tourism businesses that have demonstrated outstanding achievement and success throughout the year.
The Awards, now in their 31st year, have 29 categories across the industry spectrum – including attractions, festivals and events, ecotourism, tour and transport operators, marketing and accommodation and outstanding contribution from an individual to name a few.
Riverside is one of 41 premier tourism businesses in the state who will be in attendance, joining an incredible range of Coffs Coast businesses; Wajaana Yaam Gumbaynggirr Adventure Tours, Coffs Harbour, Bularri Muurlay Nyanggan Aboriginal Corporation, Coffs Harbour, Observatory Holiday Apartments, Coffs Harbour, The Big Banana Fun Park, Coffs Harbour and The Coffs Coast Food & Wine Festival.
Whether Riverside brings home an award or not on the night, the team have worked extremely hard over the past year, especially having to adapt to a rapidly changing environment due to the pandemic and floods,and will be celebrating all their achievemnets.
