COASTAL ADVENTURE (1)-2

Why Sussex Inlet is so great?

The beaches in this area are often recognized for their spectacular beauty – white sand and crystal clear ocean. The breath taking Hyams Beach, just a few kilometres from Sussex Inlet even holds a Guinness World Record to prove it! These beaches are all included in the Jervis Bay Marine Park which spans 100 kilometres along the coast.

The Jervis Bay marine park is a fabulous way to explore the region be it by boat, kayak or paddle board. Surf, snorkel, scuba dive or fish the beautiful waters which seals, penguins, dolphins and many other marine animals call home. Migrating humpback whales also make their annual passage during whale-watching season – you can make use of some amazing cruises, or simply enjoy from the deck of a stunning beach side restaurant. The marine park also offers some great walking trails for those who prefer to stay on dry land.

A further range of bushwalks can also be found in and around Booderee National Park. Booderee presents visitors to the area with beaches, beauty and bush all at once. In addition to having a diverse representation of flora and fauna, the park also has some of the highest sea cliffs in the state with Steamers Head rising to 130 metres. The ruin of the Cape St Gorge Lighthouse is also considered one of European heritage whilst the park also provides insight into our rich Aboriginal heritage & culture

Great walks to consider are the White Sands Walk along the shores of Jervis Bay and the Hyams Beach Trail – a great scenic stroll for bird spotters. Jervis Bay National Park is also close at hand for visitors to Sussex Inlet. Both national parks offer much diversity from wetlands to woodlands, forests to magnificent scenic foreshores.

From your base at Haven Holiday Resort, you can explore many charming seaside villages and towns dotted along the seaboard such as Hyams Beach, Huskisson, Vincentia, Mollymook and Ulladulla. Also within easy reach (one hour) are the pretty inland towns of Berry and Kangaroo Valley. Both of these towns are surrounded by lush, green landscapes and you will be sure to find some delicious, local delights.

Berry  & Kangaroo Valley are charming villages comprised of many historical buildings and are known for their great local produce, markets & events – much of which draws upon the surrounding rich, dairy country.  Locals & visitors describe Kangaroo Valley as the most ‘beautiful valley in Australia'

However you choose to spend your holiday in Sussex Inlet, be it exploring the tidal canals, taking in the stunning beaches or soaking up the untouched wilderness of the national parks and marine park, you’ll be sure to get back to nature and love your holiday at our Haven Holiday Resort Sussex Inlet.
